Local charities get £3000 boost

Tuesday 17th July 2018.

Cobham based Oasis Childcare Centre and Surrey based project Something To Look Forward To are to benefit from a £1500 grant each. This has been awarded by the charitable fund set up by CSH Surrey in partnership with the Community Foundation for Surrey.

With on average 250 vulnerable families helped each year, Oasis work closely with schools, GP’s, Social Services and the family unit as a whole to keep children out of the social care system. The £1500 grant will help Oasis Childcare Centre to provide more art therapy sessions to vulnerable children and families and buy more resources.

Something To Look Forward To offers well-being opportunities, family experiences and recuperations to address the effects of cancer diagnosis, including financial burden, change or loss of identity, and social and personal isolation and loneliness. The £1500 grant means Something To Look Forward To can to provide more opportunities for those affected by cancer.

Francesca Abery, Fundraising Manager at Something to Look Forward To says:

“Something To Look Forward To are delighted to have received funding from the CSH Surrey Community Fund. The funds will enable us to improve the lives of even more people and families affected by cancer by providing donated ‘gifts’ and ‘experiences’ including restaurant meals, cottage holidays, spa breaks and special days out. This will enable those in need to rest and recuperate, have fun and create positive memories together at a time when it is needed most,”
