Saturday 5 November 2016. CSH Surrey's Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service for MS patients, has been awarded the Multidisciplinary Team of the Year trophy at the 2016 QuDoS in MS Awards.
The awards ceremony, held on the eve of the annual MS Trust conference, took place at the Beaumont Estate in Windsor on Saturday 5th November.
The team, consisting of experts in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and a dietician, faced stiff competition from MS teams around the UK, and were selected as this year’s winners thanks to the broad range of high-quality services it offers, and the hard work and dedication shown by all team members.
“It's great to be recognised nationally for our work,” said Liz Wilkinson, an MS Nurse and part of the team. “We are a small community multi-disciplinary team who work flexibly to meet the needs of the local people affected by MS and the team work hard to provide as best a service as possible for our patients, so we were thrilled to have that recognised through the QuDoS 2016 Multidisciplinary team of the year award.”
Other awards during the evening included Outstanding MS specialist nurse, awarded to Del Thomas of the Wye Valley NHS Trust; and Outstanding allied health professional working in MS, which went to Pam Bostock, a Consultant Occupational Therapist for the Adult Ability Team at Virgincare. A full list of winners can be found below.
2016 signalled the second year of the awards, organised by pharmaphorum, supported by the MS Trust and sponsored by a number of pharmaceutical companies including Sanofi Genzyme, Novartis and Biogen. The awards highlight innovation and excellence in MS management and service delivery and also recognise the valuable contribution and tireless dedication of individuals and teams in improving the quality of life and experience of care for those with MS.
