November 2016. Patients at Dorking Community Hospital are benefiting from a generous £800 donation from a patient who kindly donated the money following a stay at the hospital.
Daisy Brown, aged 91 and from Banstead, made the donation to buy equipment after noticing there was only one patient transfer system on the ward, meaning patients had to wait if was already in use. The system allows the nursing team and families to help patients with 'transfers', such as from sitting to standing, or to reposition or move short distances.
The nursing team on Ranmore Ward are very grateful for her generous gift, which has enabled them to buy a second patient transfer system that will be of great benefit to their team, patients and carers.
