CSH Surrey, a provider of NHS community services, today announced the appointment of Renée Padfield as its new chief executive officer.

Renée will commence her role in November 2025, bringing 30 years’ NHS and public sector experience.  She is currently employed as executive director of operations at First Community Health and Care.  CSH Surrey’s interim CEO, Tom Smerdon, will continue in his role until Renée Padfield joins the organisation in November.

“Renée’s extensive experience in community services, knowledge of and network in the region and clear vision for the future of our organisation makes us very confident that she will be able to lead CSH Surrey to new heights during this period of huge change in the NHS,” said Andy Field, chair of CSH Surrey.

“We would also like to thank Tom Smerdon for continuing to excel in his role as interim CEO, ensuring stability across the organisation,” added Andy Field.

“I’m thrilled to be joining CSH Surrey as chief executive officer. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working at First Community Health and Care—an employee-owned social enterprise with values closely aligned to CSH Surrey’s.

“Both organisations are deeply committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in the heart of their communities. I look forward to working with colleagues, partners and local people to build on CSH Surrey’s strong foundations and continue making a meaningful difference,” said Renée Padfield.
