About this service

Managed by specialist wound care nurses and wound care trained health care assistants with a multi-disciplinary team approach to care, linking in with podiatry, vascular and heart failure teams.

Treatments include:

  • Doppler assessments
  • Compression bandaging
  • Measuring and fitting hosiery
  • Complex wound care
  • Topical negative pressure therapy care

Who is it for?

This service is provided by CSH Surrey for ambulatory patients referred in by local GP practices, Urgent Treatment Centres, tissue viability, hospitals and other healhcare professional lead services for patients whose GP practices are within the boundaries of North West Surrey.

The service provides advanced wound care for non-housebound patients with long-standing chronic wounds that are non-healing when all best practice interventions have failed. 

A service is also provided to non-housebound patients who require topical negative wound pressure therapy.

The clinics are led by registered complex wound nurses and health care wound assistants.

There are three clinics – locations offered (see below), and appointments are based on individual clinic capacity and registered GP location.

  • Woking Complex Wound Clinic
    Room 1003, 1st floor, Woking Community Hospital, Heathside Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 7HS.
    Opening hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 hours.

  • Walton Complex Wound Clinic
    Walton Community Hospital, Rodney Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey, KT12 3LD.
    Opening hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 hours.
  • Staines Complex Wound Clinic
    Staines Health Centre, Knowle Green, Staines-upon-Thames, Staines, TW18 1XD.
    Opening hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 hours.

The Complex Wound Clinics do not have an administrative team so a relevant clinician will be in contact when an appointment slot becomes available.

Current waiting time is four weeks – updated waiting time information will be given at the time of referral.

Patients must arrange private transportation to the clinics.
