About this service

Our nurse-led tissue viability service provides advice and support to nursing and healthcare professionals, aiming to develop and improve practice and raise the quality and standards of wound care and pressure ulcer prevention.

Who will I see?

Once the team receive a referral one of the team will triage the urgency of the referral with the nurse providing your care and make an appointment to carry out a joint assessment. 

Most patients are seen within 14 days of receipt of referral.

Where is this service provided?

Our expert tissue viability nurses (TVN’s) see patients in their own homes, health centres and in our community hospitals.

They work closely with the district nursing teams, practice nurses, nursing homes and other healthcare professionals.  Providing joint visits, specialist advice and support.

The team also provide regular education on wound management, leg assessment and management, and pressure ulcer prevention.
